MEMBERS IN THE NEWS

The colored pencil artists from LOAG were well represented at this years "It's Colored
Pencil! 2013," another wonderful presentation of Chapter 113's pencil work. The
reception on Friday, February 15 was hosted by the Live Oak members, and following
a Valentine theme, the refreshments and table presentation included a pink, white
and red M & M salad, water bottles with felt heart tags, candy, and even a heart
shaped box of chocolates. Thanks to all of those who helped to make the reception a
success.

The artwork submitted has once again impressed all who see it. The general comment
was, " I can't believe this is colored pencil!"

Our judge was familiar with colored pencil and was thrilled to see such quality work
and range of subjects.

“What a Treat! So much talent and so many beautiful pieces –it was
a challenge to pick the award winners. The technical expertise is
amazing.
In making the final award selections I looked for a combination of
technique and original concept.
Thanks so much for giving me the opportunity to see these fine works
of art and to “hear” the artists voices.”
